World Arthritis Day 2018

World Arthritis Day October 12-2018 celebrated all over the world Day Orthopedicians.

View of creating awareness for patients on arthritis where it involves the joints. Joint involving might be one or more joints.

The disease which affect the joints are Osteoarthritis , Rheumatoid Arthritis , Avascular Necrosis etc.,

Common joints affected are Knee, Hip , Elbow , Shoulder and Ankle.

The lower limb joints place crucial role in mobility of the patients.

20 years back the treatment for arthritis was more of physio and medicines (Tablet, Injections & Ointment). Where it did not give complete relief.

Nowadays joint replacement surgery has become gold standard for damaged joints. Common joint replacement are knee and hip.

All patient undergone knee and hip replacement by Dr VJ Senthil (In GVN Hospital (P) Ltd., Singarathope & BHEL) where invited.

More than 700 patients (done in past 5 years) where invited.

Special Cases - 18 years follow up patients also attend the function.

Patients undergone replacement of all four joints (Both hip & Both knee) due to Rheumatoid Arthritis also attended.

All patient attends the meeting where given gifts and where allowed to share their life after Arthritis their success story of winning arthritis.

This year's theme for World Arthritis Day is 'It's in your hands, take action'.
